Terms & Educational Disclaimer

Effective 8 October 2026 · last revised 12 October 2026

Important: BALA is an independent, unofficial revision aid. It is not endorsed, certified, or operated by the Botswana Examinations Council (BEC), a school, or an examination board. It does not replace the current official syllabus, classroom teaching, textbooks, or past-paper guidance.

What BALA is, and is not

BALA is self-study software. It is not a school, a tutoring service, an examination centre, or an examinations officer. It cannot enter anyone for an examination, choose a tier or component, receive a statement of entry, or issue a result. Entries, sessions and access arrangements belong to the candidate’s school or examinations centre. Any date you type into Your exam dates is a note you made for yourself so the countdown and study plan can follow it; where it disagrees with the statement of entry you are given, the statement of entry is correct.

Dates published inside the app come from awarding-body timetables and can change. Grade figures, projections and pace comparisons are study signals produced from practice attempts on this device, not results, predictions of a result, or advice about which papers to enter.

Educational use

Use BALA to practise and reflect on mathematics, not as the sole basis for examination preparation or an academic decision. The included topic selection and question bank are not represented as complete coverage of every current syllabus objective. Confirm examination requirements and methods with BEC materials and a qualified teacher.

Unofficial progress estimates

Scores, XP, levels, badges, module evidence, readiness percentages, practice bands, and the printable progress report are app-generated study feedback. They are not official marks, predicted grades, certificates, identity-verified records, or guarantees of examination performance. The progress report is produced in your browser from your own saved record; it is not a school report and no teacher has reviewed it. Estimates can be distorted by limited evidence, repeated attempts, help received, or differences between practice and examination conditions.

AI and automated tools

AI explanations and generated questions may be incomplete, misleading, or mathematically wrong. Solvers can also fail on unsupported notation or edge cases. Check important work independently and ask a teacher when uncertain. Do not submit private, confidential, or sensitive information to an AI feature.

Offline and service availability

After a successful online visit, the installed app can reopen cached study screens offline. AI generation requires a connection and a correctly configured server. Offline availability, browser storage, and hosted services are not guaranteed; export backups you want to keep.
